CONSERVAL

By implementing a sustainable waste management model, CONSERVAL seeks to modernise the canning industry. It aims to recover by-products and wastewater from this
sector’s production processes in Galicia and northern Portugal.

Different technologies have been developed to convert these solid and liquid flows into high added value products like volatile fatty acids, fish oils with high Omega-3 content or protein hydrolysates.

Cetaqua is developing a technological process for selectively converting liquid streams into fatty acids. By doing so, we are laying the foundations for a circular economy model, which reduces waste by converting it to potential resources and, thus, minimises the environmental impact on natural waterways.
