Groundwater Datahub

Strengthening groundwater resilience to face droughts

Groundwater Datahub

The Groundwater Datahub project, funded by the PlAnd Sequía Andalucía programme, aims to improve knowledge of groundwater bodies in the Western Costa del Sol in order to strengthen water resilience against prolonged drought episodes. To this end, it will develop an interoperable territorial groundwater management platform that will include different dashboards comprising: (1) a hybridisation environment for predictive and deterministic models, (2) a system of drought/scarcity indicators and status indicators for Managed Aquifer Recharge systems, and (3) short-term management and risk simulations of available water resources and demands.

The developed platform will enable water management and planning organisations, as well as end users, to access verified information on the hydrogeological status and functioning of groundwater bodies.

The Andalusian Centre for Water Research has received funding from the European Union under the PLAnd Seguía Andalucía 2021-2027 programme for the project Sistema de Gestión Territorial de Masas de Agua Subterránea (Groundwater Datahub).
