ECOVAL

Coordination strategies for the management and recovery of sewage sludge and organic waste in the SUDOE region.

ECOVAL proposes a new approach to waste management based on the recovery of waste to obtain volatile fatty acids useful as by-products for the plastics, lubricants and agrochemical industries. ECOVAL is developing the entire value chain from waste collection to the commercialisation of the final product by developing innovative biotechnological processes to improve the conversion of waste into biogas, creating a full cycle by applying the new resources in the agrochemical industry.

For the cities of the SUDOE region, the project will provide a new environmental management model that integrates multidisciplinary factors of legislative, economic, market, environmental, and social nature. In this way, it contributes to the integration of the circular economy and promotes waste reduction and environmental protection by transforming waste into a resource.
