Boosting urban resilience against climate change, natural disasters and cyberattacks

ECHO

Urban areas are facing the effects of climate change, natural disasters, and cyberattacks. However, current resilience planning and management are facing challenges, as many strategies are designed without considering specific regional needs. This is resulting in operational inefficiency and limited coordination among the various stakeholders involved.

To address these challenges, the ECHO project will create a multilevel Resilience Ecosystem that will bring together critical infrastructure operators, emergency services and local/regional authorities. The goal is to develop innovative tools, services and strategies to improve urban resilience planning and management across Europe, promoting collaboration and the efficient use of resources.

The project will implement four pilot programs in different European locations, including the province of Málaga (Spain). This pilot will be focused on developing solutions to address issues caused by floods and droughts.
