Optimization of the water cycle in residential environments through Artificial Intelligence
The hlhAigua project seeks to optimize the management of water and energy consumption in residential environments. To achieve this, it will identify patterns of water use in homes and detect anomalies —such as leaks or failures in measuring devices— through algorithms based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and consumption data from each household.
Within the framework of the project, data on energy consumption and hot and cold water collected every 7 minutes will be used and complemented with user surveys about their habits and perceptions in order to offer personalized recommendations to users to improve water and energy efficiency. The final objective is to raise users’ awareness of their water footprint and facilitate the management and maintenance of spaces, thus contributing to sustainability and cost reduction in homes.
The hIhAigua initiative has received support from the European Union-NextGenerationEU through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the Departament d’Empresa i Treball of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
