Aqua Research Collaboration (ARC) is a European benchmark in collaborative research on the integral water cycle. The association was created in 2010 by five applied research centers, including Cetaqua, with the objective of collectively strengthening knowledge about water processes, carrying out research of excellence, promoting the application of scientific knowledge and promoting a more efficient and sustainable management of this resource.
EsAgua is a remarkable initiative in sustainable development, promoted by Cetaqua and the Water Footprint Network, and managed by Cetaqua. EsAgua arose from the growing need for information on the water footprint of organisations, processes and products, with the aim of achieving a more sustainable and equitable use of freshwater. This network, which is the first of its kind in Spain, acts as a meeting point for organisations interested in the water footprint, in publicising the concept, and in promoting sustainable water management.

A networked approach with with well-known institutions provides the scientific basis for the solutions proposed.
Since 2010 I have collaborated with Cetaqua in various contexts. Together we have been founding members of the ARC network, and partners in a couple of EU funded R&I projects such as DEMEAU, DESSIN, BINGO and STOP-IT.
What I like about Cetaqua is their pragmatic and creative way to always find a solution without compromising scientific rigour and excellence, and they really know the needs of the practitioners in the water sector.
I'm looking forward to many more exciting projects in the future!

Willy Verstraete (Ghent University and Avecom NV) has been cooperating with Cetaqua on the topic of nitrogen recovery and agronomic valorisation through the LIFE NECOVERY project.
The expertise of Cetaqua has proven of great value to upscale technologies for nitrogen recovery to pilot level and achieve reproducible results compared to lab level conditions.

The UPC’s involvement in Cetaqua, with whom we share values of research, knowledge transfer and dissemination, social responsibility and public-private partnership, takes on particular importance in that water is one of the major horizontal issues that affects every aspect of sustainability: environmental, social and economic.
The union of science and business, as was the origin of Cetaqua, is essential in the generation of knowledge, the search for R&D opportunities and the development of technologies that help the use of natural resources and, therefore, to the development and sustainability of the planet.

The USM shares with Cetaqua its interest and constant concern to promote and develop several initiatives that generate new knowledge and advance in R&D and technology transfer, elements that are key when working for the development of countries.

Through an organizational model that integrates private companies and public institutions such as the CSIC, Cetaqua is a direct vehicle of high-level scientific and technological knowledge towards the main stakeholders, society, fostering tangible technological and socio-economic changes that make possible a sustainable future.

The vision of companies from different sectors (water, energy, waste, agriculture, etc.) helps to detect opportunities and to translate them into viable and sustainable solutions from the social, economic and environmental perspective, adapting them to society’s present and future needs.
Cetaqua is, for Aigües de Barcelona, a great lever for technological transformation and innovation. For more than 10 years, the close collaboration and research in the field of water, born from the synergies between the academic, the scientific and the business worlds, has allowed us to move forward thanks to the application of the best available technologies and anticipate them, seeking innovative solutions to the needs arising from our management of the integral water cycle in the Barcelona metropolitan area.

ASG is a company committed to the efficient water management in the framework of sustainable agriculture. We participate in the European project LIFE ENRICH, where the experience of CETAQUA on the recovery of nutrients contained in wastewater is helping us establish its value within the field of fertilizers in our demonstration farms located in Castelldans and Agramunt.

In order to face future challenges, Aguas Andinas promoted the creation of Cetaqua Chile, an integrating body, manager and executor of research projects working in a network with the best research centres in water and environment in Chile and abroad, and is helping us in the implementation of the concept of Circular Economy in our facilities.

Cetaqua has become a benchmark for water research in Galicia, thanks to its organizational model based on the integration of the world of science, enterprise and public administration.

An unequivocal commitment with fair and sustainable transformation and development based on the very best know-how and professional excellence defines the contribution by all the people and bodies that make up Cetaqua in order to resolve global challenges, in a productive partnership between the worlds of science, universities and enterprise.

The continuous involvement of public bodies helps to guarantee that the proposed solutions respond to the real challenges our society is facing, and ensures that they can be implemented in the regional contexts and regulatory frameworks of today and tomorrow.
Galicia has an economy strongly linked to water and the knowledge our centers have is essential to achieve a sustainable use of this resource. From the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), since 2015 we have supported the Mixed Unit of Advanced Water Treatment Systems (CIGAT), promoted by Viaqua and Cetaqua.
This Unit has already achieved the industrialization of three innovative technologies for the treatment of industrial wastewater, one of which is already implemented in the market.
