TRIHSENS

This project, which is part of the CONECTAPEME 2018 programme, aims to develop a comprehensive control system to improve the response and efficiency of the drinking water treatment process.

In 2020, a fluorescence probe based on the low-cost LED technology was installed at the Tambre Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP) in Santiago de Compostela for in situ monitoring of the drinking water treatment process. The probe was coupled with a predictive model and a decision support tool to enable a fast and accurate response to contamination events and to assist in the control of drinking water quality by the plant staff.
